What are the common imposition methods for color printing of brochures?
Whether it is offset printing or digital printing, imposition problems will be encountered in the specific printing process. Using different imposition methods will produce different effects. Let’s briefly introduce the commonly used imposition methods below.
1. Single-sided printing
Single-sided printing means that only one side is involved in specific color printing. Generally speaking, this kind of single-sided printing is more common in poster printing, handbag printing, and packaging box printing. Only the front side needs to be printed, and the back side does not need to be printed.
2. Double-sided printing
Products that require printing on both the front and back require double-sided printing and imposition. For example, book printing, leaflet printing, card printing, etc.
3. Horizontal printing
This printing method is also called "self-reprinting" or "on-plate reprinting" and is commonly used in brochure printing. The ultimate effect of this kind of color printing is to get two identical prints.
4. Flip printing
In this color printing process, we need to use the same piece of printed matter. After printing one side, flip the paper to the back and print again. However, this kind of flip-type printing is extremely rare in current color printing.
